The Algonquin people of Barriere Lake is fighting to defend its community against both the Quebec Provincial and Federal Government’s violation of customary laws granted to them in 1987. On May 23, members of the Barriere Lake Solidarity met in Montreal to begin their week-long protest, in an effort to reclaim the rights that once belonged to the people of Barriere Lake.
